UPDATE No.26 FROM COUBERTIN.COM

A big welcome to all new members of the Coubertin.com Olympic Collectors' Auction service and a special thank you to all members who have participated in the auction. There are now 1,168 active members! Coubertin.com brings together more Olympic Collectors than any other club, society or organisation in the world.

LONDON 2012

As this Coubertin.com Administrator, that’s me, is British and my girlfriend is French then I can say nothing about 2012. But I can say that her French cooking is the best, she’s usually right and she drives impeccably. She passed her driver’s license, first time, two weeks ago. She also has a very sexy French accent except when ‘2012’ or the ‘Olympics’ are mentioned. I can’t talk about the Olympics at home anymore.

119th WENLOCK OLYMPIAN GAMES

Coubertin.com was proud to have sponsored the Senior Pentathlon at the Games.

PODIUMKING

For those of you that do not already know I have the sad news that vendor Podiumking died earlier this year (in April). On his last visit to hospital he could not leave the hospital bed for nine months due to a number of problems caused by Multiple Myeloma cancer. His cancer was in remission when he died unexpectedly of a heart attack. Only days before the event we were all convinced that he would be out of hospital within six to eight weeks because he had recovered so well. He was 39 years old when he died.

PINSY

A very big thank you to vendor Pinsy who has kept the Coubertin.com show on the road whilst both Podiumking and Olympian were otherwise distracted. Podiumking was Olympian’s brother.

OLYMPIAN

Please be patient with vendor Olympian whilst he catches up. He has been distracted by a number of major events this year and has been overwhelmed with unexpected personal and work travel to Germany and Greece as well as planned travel to France and the United States. He asks that you chase him up if he has not completed transactions by the end of November.

SOCIETY OF OLYMPIC COLLECTORS

Those of you that specialise in Olympic philately, postal history or postcards that are not already members of the Society of Olympic Collectors may like to join through the website at www.societyofolympiccollectors.org

The Society recently introduced an international packet service, with choice material, for all members who wish to subscribe. It is worth joining the Society just to participate in the quarterly auction and to get hold of their unique London 2012 souvenirs. But the real prize is the Society’s Torch Bearer publication with articles and news about all things Olympic in philately and postal history.

NEWS

If you know of any future events of interest to Olympic Collectors please let me know for inclusion to this update.
